James H. “Bunch” Woolbright, Sr., age 84, of Northport, died Dec. 13, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Latham officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Arlando Woolbright; mother, Annie Dean Woolbright; brother, Hubert Jean Woolbright; and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Robertson (Edward Robertson).
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Elizabeth Woolbright of Northport; sons, James H. Woolbright, Jr. (Rose Woolbright) of Buhl and Murry “Sonny” M. Bailey (Mary Bailey) of Fayette; daughter, Linda Jean Allen (Max Allen) of Aliceville; grandchildren, Scotty Woolbright (Crystal) of Buhl, Misty Woolbright (Randall) of Tuscaloosa, Kelli Lambert (Justin) of Tuscaloosa, Anita Jones (Tommy) of Gordo, Cindy Clark (Micheal) of Gordo, Shannon Clark of Northport, Leigh Snider (Larry) of Fayette, Shawn Clark (Stephine) of Gordo, and Shon Bailey (Carmen) of Fayette; 20 great-grandchildren, MaKala Woolbright, Kalie'ann Elmore, Suziann Clark, Kyle Snider, Austin Snider, Ashley Bailey, Nate Bailey, Nikki Burton, Jordon Burton, Brooke Bailey, Ava Lee Clark, Christopher Brewer, Megan Harrison, Tristian Clark, Justin Jones, Josh Jones, Colt Jones, Bryant Lambert, and Cayden Lambert; sisters, Christine Harris (Bob) of Columbus, Miss., ImoJene Sullivan (James) of Tuscaloosa, and Ruth Lancaster (Ervin) of Ethelsville; numerous other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tom Peters.
“Bunch” was a retiree from Alabama Power. He loved to read and listen to gospel music. He was a veteran of World War II. He was also known as "Day" by his grandchildren. He loved his family and friends. He loved working outside, whether it was on a lawnmower, car or in his garden. He will be truly missed by all. We all love you dearly. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten!
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hatfield, Randall Hyde, Tory Wayne Sullivan, Danny Lancaster, Shannon W. Bailey, Jordon Burton, Shawn Clark, and Robert Childs.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and family of Fifth Street in Northport, Alabama Power friends, DCH Regional Medical Center Surgical ICU, Dr. McKenzie and nurse Brucie, Bro. Larry Colburn, of Shepards Way, Bro. Jackie McAteer, and Rodney Snider (Bo) of Coker Presbyterian.
