COKER – Jerry Neal Robinson, Jr., age 58, of Coker, Ala., passed on to his home in heaven on March 5, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Graveside services will be officiated by Reverend Tim Fields and Bill McDonald at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will follow at the gravesite.
Neal was born on September 26, 1959 to Flo and Jerry Robinson. Survivors include his mother, brother, Joe, aunts, uncle, nephew and cousins, as well as family friend, Shirley Brown.
Neal was an electrician for 30 years and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 136. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 1978. He loved the outdoors in his younger years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed water skiing and jet skiing. He and his father enjoyed these activities together on a regular basis.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry, his grandparents Littie and Dick Cross, Charlie Robinson, Hilton and LaNora Marler, Henry Marler and Bert Marler.
Honorary pallbearers are the doctors and nurses at Trauma I Emergency Room, TSICU and Dr. Jim Corder at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to all medical staff involved in Neal's care as well as his neighbors, Bro. Gene Dockery and his wife, Maxine, and Tiger and Deesha Moore. He will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and his beloved dogs, Deisel and Diamond.
Contributions in Neal's memory may be made to Northport Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
