Jerry was born on March 4th, 1948 in Reform, Alabama. His family later moved to Tuscaloosa where he attended Tuscaloosa County High School and graduated in 1966. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably, both domestically and abroad. He met the love of his life, Carolyn, in 1974 and they were married in 1979. Jerry and his family lived in Northport, Alabama where he worked in manufacturing as a maintenance and safety coordinator. He also served the local community as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. Jerry retired in 2010 and devoted his time to his family. In 2021, Jerry and Carolyn moved to Fairhope, Alabama, where they enjoyed watching sunsets on the pier and exploring the area. Jerry loved the outdoors, taking road trips, puzzles, reading mystery-thrillers, “tinkering” in his workshop, and watching the Braves.
Jerry was beloved by those who knew him; his warm spirit and soft smile will be missed by all. His family is comforted that he is now in the everlasting care of our Lord.
