Obituary of John Edward Jones
John Edward Jones age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7th,2022. Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be at Sunset Funeral Home a Dignity Memorial Provider on Thursday, May 12th, 2022 at 11:00AM The family will receive guest one hour prior. John is survived by sons Rodney Jones, Richard Kincaid (Lynn), Kenny Kincaid, daughters Darlene Jones, Cindy Mallory (Allen), Joni Jones, daughter-in-law Cindy Jones, 13 much loved grandchildren, 9 brothers and sisters, and a host of relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Edward Jones and Katie Mae Mize Jones, wife Crenshaw Jones, son Eddie Jones, brothers Frank Jones, Alan Jones, and sister Lucille. John grew up on a farm in Greene County, and later moved to Tuscaloosa, where he was a plumbing contractor throughout Tuscaloosa County. Later, John was a plumbing inspector for the City of Tuscaloosa, until he retired. John was known for his hard work and kindness to others. He was what you might call a horse whisperer. He and his wife worked to help establish the Ray Jenkins Arena that is still in operation today for horse competitions. John and his wife owned and operated North River Stables for many years. They enjoyed their horse family of friends. John continued to live and work on his horse farm. He enjoyed, gospel music, friends, and family visits. We will miss this very much loved man with his work hard play hard ethic and love for life. We will miss the many fish fries, cookouts and road trips together.
