Judy Kay Powell Savage

Judy Kay Powell Savage, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died August 25, 2013, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Lyles officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn M. and Persinger Powell; sister, Jane Miller, brother, Joseph Powell; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Chambers.

Survivors include her husband, John Andrew Savage III; daughter, Julie Savage Jones (Derek); son, John Andrew Savage IV (Tyler); sisters, Jackie Chambers, Ruthann Park (Joey), and Jean Greene (Steven); grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Haleigh Jones, Samantha Savage, Sydney Savage, Sarah Savage, Kyle Jones, Kaden Jones, and Shelby Savage; nieces, Elizabeth Fyrbery, Joanna Park, and Angela Greene; and nephews, Clint Miller and Ken Smith (Button).

Judy was a beautiful person; she was married to her best friend for 45 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, granny, aunt and friend. Her amazing strength and endurance during the past ten years of illness speaks volumes about her. Although we will miss her greatly, our faith in Jesus Christ assures us that we will see her again.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Jones, Clint Miller, Ken Smith, Joey Park, Joe Wilson, Danny Stamps, Marc Sherrill, and Walter Moorer.

Honorary pallbearers are staff of Northport Medical Center, Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. Dirk Berry, Dr. Garfield Ramdeen, Dr. Mala and Kirit Shah and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
