Kenneth Melvin

Kenneth Boyd Melvin, age 87, of Northport passed from this life August 28, 2021 at Northport Medical Center. Dr. Melvin is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice June Melvin and his sister, Iva Ann Alt.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather L. Boothe, son, Kenneth B. Melvin (Daphne); grandchildren,

Cameron Melvin, Nick Barger, Bailey Melvin, Sarah Jane Haire( Benny ), Megan Barger, Jacob Barger, Hannah Melvin and Tommy Boothe; nieces, Donna Bowes and Debbie Alt; grand nephew, Spencer Alt.

Kenneth was a loving father, grandfather and uncle. He was a retired psychology professor from the University of Alabama. After retirement, he became a published author and illustrator. He enjoyed reading and painting. He was a member of the Tuscaloosa Writers and Illustrators Guild(TWIG) and a frequent vendor at the 5th Street Vintage Market.

His wisdom, wit and whimsy will be missed.
