OBITUARY

Larry Wayne Allen

April 17, 1971May 2, 2011

Larry Wayne Allen, age 40, of Northport, died May 2, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Vial Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Eugene (Shorty) Allen; and his grandparents, Henry and Myrtle Weaver, Herman Allen, and Estelle Zeanah.

Survivors include the love of his life and best friend, Janet Lee and her daughter, Jennifer Lee; his mother, Mary Louise Allen of Duncanville; his brother, Randy Allen (MiMi) of Tuscaloosa; his sisters, Kathryn Strickland (Tommy) of Fountain, Colo., Carol Farley (Jeny) of Duncanville, Sue Latham (Billy) of Tuscaloosa, and Sarah Britt (David) of Forkland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.

Pallbearers will be Newel Wyres, Craig Ammons, Corey Raines, Adam Raines, Danny Hicks, Ricky Hicks, Randall Hicks, and Wayne Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers are First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa Builders for Christ, all employees of Cabiness Paint, ICI Paints, The Paint Spot, and Sherwin Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family feels that it would have been Larry's wish for donations to be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Ministry.

Larry's Family-
I have just learned of Larry's passing. My prayers are with the family and friends, he had a special place in the hearts of many. Larry is in a better place than this world we live in. Please rejoice in knowing that he is with the Lord and let that be your strength and comfort for the days to come.
