Uncle Larry, Ron and I loved you so much!! You were always a joy to be around. We had some great meals and times when we lived close to you. Aunt Bessie always did all she could, as did Helen. We loved them both. And of course we can't forget when you, Helen and the kids made it to Morning Sun for the 4th. Becky, Michelle and family, Teresa and family, Alex, and so many more. It was one of Ron's favorite times. You are now in Heaven with Ron,
Sharon, Jim, Ken, and Thelma and Jim, Bonnie and Tom among others. Kiss them all for us, and we pray we will see all of you again one day. All my love, Sharon Ruble

I remember Uncle Larry when one year I believe it was 1957. Dad came home and asked if we would like to travel down to Alabama to see Uncle Larry and Bessie, of course we would. So we all loaded up in the car and headed to West Blocton. Uncle Larry took all of us to a fun park to ride the rides and go for a boat ride on the lake. Of course it started to rain and we all go drenched but , we didn't care.

Uncle Larry will be greatly missed. When I was in about 5th grade we lived in a tiny old house behind Larry and Bessie's house. We became very close. He taught me how to play Tom Dooley on the guitar. As recently as a month ago he asked me if I still remembered how to play it (I'm 52). I assured him I could probably figure it out. Lol

I loved hearing him play music. I still have a cassette from when he and the band were on the Grand Ole Opry. He was always such a joy.

He is up there with my daddy, and grandma and the rest of our family that when before him dancing, cracking jokes and playing tunes and singing to Jesus. Love you, Uncle Larry!

I was really hoping he could make it to Iowa one last time. I remember him and the kids coming over the 4th and the family band playing while the others danced. I was honored to be in his wedding when he married Helen. It was great that at his age he was Facebook literate and was able to keep in touch with all of us. He was a proud veteran and boy did he love his Harley. He will be greatly missed here and in heaven there will be tons of singing, rejoicing, guitar and banjo playing. Love you Uncle Larry, you will be missed!!

When I was young, I was the only child allowed to sit with the adults when Uncle Larry came to visit. I Love to sit and listen to him talk with his Southern accent. I Loved how his eyes lit up when he laughed. He was so handsome.
He served in the United States Navy and Loved his Country. He deserves a Veterans Burial Service.
