He was preceded by his parents K.L. and Birdie Barrett.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sondra Hollingsworth Barrett, daughters Sheila James (Van) and Lawresa Parrish (Michael), brother Arnold Barrett (Betty), grandchildren “Super Buddy” Brandon James (Brittany), Brittany Brantley (Kent), and “Super Buddy” Andrew Parrish (Cherie), great grandchildren Jonah James, Sadie Grissett, Gabe James, Sawyer Grissett, Jeremiah James and Emory Brantley.
Lawrence was a faithful servant and long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He retired from Dixie Air after 44 years in the aviation industry and began a new career working at Ervin’s Work and Western with his daughter and son-in-law. Lawrence served many customers with his kind and gentle spirit over more than 20 years.
Lawrence lived his life with a deep abiding faith in Christ. He loved his wife Sondra deeply and demonstrated unfailing love and patience with his girls. Lawrence had many friends, and all that knew him loved and respected him.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 3rd at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Coker. The visitation will be held 1 hour prior. A private burial will be held following at Sunset Memorial Park.
The Pall bearers are Brandon James, Andrew Parrish, Kent Brantley, Ronnie Hollingsworth, David Hollingsworth, Tommy Tucker, Brian Tucker, and Shawn Pinion.
