Linda B. Christian, age 62, of Samantha, died Dec. 19, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne McMahon officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin C. Baird; her mother, Mildred L. Baird; and her husband, Jon A. Christian, who died in 2009.
Survivors include her son, Chad Christian; her sister, Judy Flowers; her brother, Robert T. Baird; her cousin, Hollis Baird; her nephews, Jason A. Christian and John T. Baird; her niece, Connie Baird; her grandchildren, Andrea Christian, Kaitlyn Harbin, and Kristen Harbin; and other family members, Stephanie Bowman and Jason West.
She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Mississippi University for Women. She was a retired nurse practitioner and a very wonderful and loving mother and friend whose company will be forever missed and memories will forever be cherished.
Honorary pallbearers are the Samantha Volunteer Fire Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's office.
