
Mamie Louise Hyche, age 84, of Northport, died Jan. 12, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hyche; daughter, Mary Ann Hyche, parents, Girley and Linnie Pugh; and brothers, Choice and Cecil Pugh.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Hyche (Brenda) of Northport; sister, Grace Pierce (Joe) of Cottondale; brother, Clell Pugh of Cottondale; grandchildren, Chris Hyche (Jess) of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Rebekah Thomas (James) of Destin, Fla., Emily Ewert (Jeremy) of Northport, Ala., and Danny Plunkett of Northport, Ala.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mother always saw the best in everyone and was full of compassion for all if she had it, it was yours. She was a true Christian who lived by the Word. Her rose gardens were her pride and her grand’s were her joy. She was a career nurse at Bryce and caregiver of her late husband.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are friends of Flatwoods; Vicky Kerr and staff of Caring Days; staff of Hospice of West Alabama; members of the many churches she and George served in West Alabama; staff of Sansing Country Home; and Jerry and Anita Adam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caring Days, a wonderful organization that serves families with loved ones who have memory disorders by providing a safe and loving environment.
