NORTHPORT – Margie Ruth ""Maw Maw Woods"" Woods, age 83, of Northport, Ala., died March 20, 2017, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 12 noon Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Luther Woods and granddaughter, Jennifer Averette.Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Woods Smalley and Teresa Averette (Larry); sons, Don Woods (Sharon) and Jeff Woods (Sheryl); sisters, Dean Nelson, Barbara Ann Packard, Patsy Boyd, Yvonne Banks and Brenda Michalski; brothers, Jerry Sartain and Ronnie Sartain; and grandchildren, Hannah Holman, Haley Taylor, Jeff Woods, Leah Pearson, Marcus Smalley and Shelly Smalley.Margie was the second oldest of eight children. She was very closest with her family. She loved having lunch and shopping with ""The Sisters"". Her four children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.Mom was the strongest woman we knew. She had a love for her flowers and making her yard beautiful. She was a person of faith and lived her life serving others. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.Pallbearers will be Jeff Woods, Marcus Smalley, David Nelson, Randy Sartain, Junior Boyd and Phillip Boyd.Honorary pallbearers are Martinview Assisted Living, Glen Haven Nursing Home and Dr. Potts.
