TUSCALOOSA | Mary Lou Channell, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died June 5, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at Sunset Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery with Sunset Chapel Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight, June 7, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Frank Channell; son-in-law, John Culbert; parents, Charlie and Lois Hollingsworth; five brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her five daughters, Mary Sue Plowman (Roger), Betty Smalley (Jerry), Elizabeth “Libby” Koon (Larry), Tracey Culburt, and Judy Terrell (Bill); one son, Donald Buster” Channell (Lisa); sisters, Jane Smelser, Ellwn Hollyhand, and Faye Sanford (Daniel); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Artie and Annette Pandey, doctors and staff of DCH Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, nurses of Hospice of West Alabama, and special thanks to Sandy and Marsha.
