NORTHPORT | Melba Jean Jones, age 71, of Northport, died December 29, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil C. Jones.Survivors include her brothers, Byron Jones (Wanda Sue Jones), and Larry Jones (Cely Jones); mother, Mary Lou Jones; niece, Sherry Hudson; nephews, Andy Jones, Dale Jones, Mark Jones and Landon Jones; great nieces and nephews, Shana McGraw, Leah Gant, Lindsey Jones, Blake Jones, Lauren Jones, Christopher Jones, Brittany Jones, Dakota Jones, Melanie Jones, Dustin Jones, Emily Jones, and Layton Jones; great-great-nieces and nephews, Halee Hudson, Rylan McGraw and Preston Gant; and special friend, Susan Dodson.Melba taught school in Fayette County for over 20 years.
