

Michael David "Snake" Walters, age 70 (born April 14,1951) of Northport, Alabama passed away at home on April 8, 2022. Burial will be Friday April 15, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home (3802 Watermelon Rd, Northport, AL 35473). Visitation will begin at 11:00am with the service starting at 12:00pm.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin Ray and Annie Louise Walters, grandparents James and Addie Walters, Alvie and Corrine Mordecai.
Survivors include his children James Travis Walters, Tracey Michelle Grissom, and stepson Jeffrey Michael (Ashley) Rudd with his former spouse Paula Walters; grandchildren James Michael (Mikayla) Hartley and Anna-Grace Grissom; great grandchildren Delilah Rose Hamner Hartley, Blakely James Hartley, Elliott Michael Rudd, Addison Boone Rudd, Travis Brooks Rudd, and Leila Harper Rudd; sister Teena (Billy) Oyler; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael retired from Goodrich Tire Plant after 29 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers local 351. He loved his Harley-Davidsons, his Corvette, and learning about history.
Michael was an Eagle Scout and member of The Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts of America, Black Warrior Council, Alabama.
Honorary pallbearers include the members of the Moose Family Center, present and past employees of Goodrich Tire Plant, members of the United Steel Workers local 351, Former members of Brothers Motorcycle Club, Custom Riders Motorcycle Club, In Country Vets Motorcycle Club, and numerous other motorcycle riders.
