Nira Willodean Poe Hyde

Nira Willodean Poe Hyde, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, died September 25, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 1:00 pm, with graveside service following at 2:00 pm.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years James W. Hyde; her son, Michael L. Hyde; brothers, Bobby J. Griffin, Charles Griffin, two infant brothers; sisters Dorothy A. Bonner (Griffin), and Willie F. Gant (Griffin).

Survivors include her grandchildren Sean (Angela) Hyde of Tuscaloosa, Elizabeth Price (Jonathan) of Dawson, Georgia and Bobbi Scruggs (John) of Birmingham, Alabama; great grandchildren, Justin Hyde, Austin Hyde and Kylie Hyde, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Canaan Price, Esther Price of Athens, Georgia, Charlotte Scruggs, Jacob Scruggs of Birmingham, Alabama; brothers, Bill Griffin of Destin, Florida, James Griffin and Donald Griffin of Berry, Alabama.

Mrs. Hyde retired from Partlow Hospital after 34 years of service. She loved working in her gardens. She loved her family very much and was so proud of them. Even as our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother has departed, each of us will have special memories of our "Maw Maw." She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Justin Hyde, Austin Hyde, Ernest Sellers, and John Scruggs.

Honorary pallbearers are Oasis Hospice Care and Aspire Physical Recovery Center of West Alabama.
