

Patricia Wilson Wix, 86, died on December 10, 2020, at her home in Northport. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 13, at Sunset Funeral Home in Northport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Granville Harlin Wilson and Era Loftis Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred Ray Wix, one sister, Vivian Wilson Hanvey, of Nashville, TN, one daughter, Ava Wix Eure and husband Stephen Taylor Eure of Northport, one son, Steven Harlin Wixand wife Kristine Larson Wix of Orlando, FL, and four grandchildren, Amanda Eure of Northport, Daniel Eure of Northport, Katelyn Wix of Orlando, FL and Faith Wix of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia was born on October 6, 1934 in Lafayette, TN. She graduated as valedictorian her classat Macon County High School in 1952. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in education at Middle Tennessee State College in 1956, and in 1962 earned a Master’s degree in Counseling at the University of Louisville, KY. She taught high school classes in Nashville, TN from 1956-1958, and at DuPont High School in Louisville, KY from 1959-1963.
In high school, she met Fred Ray Wix, and they later married on December 22, 1957, in Nashville, TN. The couple moved to Louisville, KY in 1959, where they lived for 22 years and had two children, Ava and Steven. In 1981, the family moved to Jacksonville, FL, where they lived for the next 33 years. In 2014, Patricia and Fred moved to Northport, AL.
Patricia was actively involved in multiple charitable organizations. She served as president of Alpha Delta Kappa (organization for Women Educators). She also served in Dreams Come True and Kentuckiana Women’s Organization for many years.
Patricia was a faithful Christian and active member of Northport Church of Christ. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her family. Her life exhibited the love of Christ on a daily basis. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
