

TUSCALOOSA | Ray Austin Bagley, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, died September 30, 2015, at home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, with Pastor John Alexander officiating in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, 16598 Romulus Road, Buhl, Ala. 35446 with Sunset Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Osteen and Edna Bagley; and brothers, Benny Bagley and Monroe Bagley.
Survivors include his wife Thelma Burroughs Bagley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sons, Bryant Austin Bagley (Kate) of Helena, Ala. and Justin Colonial Bagley (Florencia) of Brasilia,Brazil; and grandchildren, Sadie Marie Bagley, James Bryant Bagley and Benjamin Felix Bagley. Brothers, Tony Bagley, Teddy Bagley,Bibbe Bagley, and Elgrean Bagley. Sisters Bonnie, Fearrington, Closteen O’Steen, and Katrinia White
Austin was a brilliant and vivacious man. A family man. Hardworking and humble. As a loving father, husband, and friend, he gave of himself to the great benefit of his family and friends. He worked in Real Estate and the Elevator industry for many years as the bread winner of our family. He was a rational thinker and problem solver who could fix almost anything. He loved his wife and sons more than life itself. Austin had a great love of the outdoors and respected and protected nature in every way. His love and laughter will not be forgotten, and he will be well remembered always! We love you and will see you again.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Cox, Mike Patel, Marvin James, Eddie Yessick, Ron Thomas, Tim and Toshawn O’Steen.
Honorary pallbearers are Glynis and Rohn Rhodes, Penny Fourt, Tollie Meggs, Wayland Dunn, The Roundtrees, New Hope Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist, WOW and Joe Wallace classes, Cottondale Elementary School Faculty and Staff.
