Richard was preceded in death by his parents Bryan Beloved Carlisle Daisy Kelly Carlisle; brothers Vertis Sheffield and James S. Sheffield; sister Ioma Sheffield Rivers.
Richard is survived by his sons Charles B. "Chuck" Carlisle and Bart J Carlisle, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and his grandchildren Cameron Carlisle, Carson Carlisle, Baylee Carlisle and Bryan Carlisle of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Tait Carlisle of Atlanta, Georgia, two great-grandchildren Mia Banks Carlisle and Cross Carlisle.
Mr. Carlisle graduated high school from Clarke County High School and then enlisted and served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He attended and graduated Auburn University with a major in accounting and married on June 3, 1956 to Janet K Jordan of Fulton, Alabama. Mr. Carlisle held various professional positions that moved he and his family around Alabama with a short time working in Texas. His final employment was with MacMillan Bloedel Lumber and Paper Company, where he retired at the vice presidential level. Having played baseball at the Collegiate and semi-professional level, he enjoyed all team sports. At age 35, he began a love for the game of golf and played regularly until his final years.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. The family will also receive guests for 30 minutes after the service.
