
Robert E. Lee Moore, age 93, of Moores Bridge, died July 3, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Charlean Moore; his daughter, Vanessa Davis (Cronin); his sons, Steve Moore (Cynthia) and Stewart Moore; his grandchildren, Christina Howton (Jeremy), Brandon Moore (Melissa), Sidney Simmons, and Kayla Moore; and his great-grandchildren, Josie Perkins, Hunter Harkey, and Macie Moore.
He was born and raised in the Moores Bridge community and was a deacon at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. He served in the 4th Infantry Division during World War II. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Alton Strickland, Jerome Strickland, Kindred Strickland, Truman Strickland, Dave White, and Scott White.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of the Moores Bridge community, members of Mt. Zion and Pleasant Ridge churches, Amedisys Hospice, and employees of Southern Natural Gas.
