BROOKWOOD – Cecil (Rodney) Jackson, age 71, of Brookwood, Ala., died March 17, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Tony Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil H. Jackson and Mary Elizabeth Jackson; and grandparents, Tommy and Eppie Simpson and William and Emma Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Jackson; daughters, Diana Reyes and Kelly Jackson; sons, Rodney (Scott) Jackson, Eric Reyes and Cody Jackson; sisters, Debbie Smith (Larry), Sharon Morrison, and Anita Boyette (Gary); brothers, Ray Jackson, Donnie Jackson and Larry Jackson; and nine beautiful grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Cecil (Rodney) Jackson, 71, of Brookwood went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 17, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center at 5:32 a.m. surrounded by loving family. Rodney was born February 12, 1947 to Cecil and Elizabeth Jackson of Northport, Ala. He was the first born of seven children. After graduating high school at TCHS, he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for four years; one year in Vietnam. After serving his country, he returned home to Northport and started his family. He worked 37 years for Tractor & Equipment. He loved the outdoors. He loved his family first and he loved the Lord.
Pallbearers will be Chad Jackson, Preston Jackson, Cason Jackson, Sean Kemp, Josh Jarrel, Ed Golden, Wesley Jackson and Hank Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers are friends at Tractor & Equipment.
The family would like to say a special thanks to DCH Regional Medical Center ICU Nurses Buck and Amy, also VA Hospital Birmingham CCU Unit and staff.
