Mike was a lifetime resident of the Tuscaloosa area who served in the Army during the Vietnam War. For many years he commuted to Birmingham, working in the auto parts industry.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Chadwick, son Jeremy Elam (Beth), and grandchildren Jaclyn Bullard (Becker), Brock Elam, Brent Elam (Naomi), Julie Elam, Bryant Elam, Jenna Elam, and six great-grandchildren.
Mike was an active member serving at Bible Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. He was particularly passionate about worldwide missions.
The family will receive family and friends at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 16, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm with a service following at 1 PM.
Mike will be laid to rest at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Bible Baptist’s Missions program at 200 Bear Creek Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
