Ruby Odessa Townsend

A visitation for Odessa will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, Alabama 35473 followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lucius Junior Townsend; parents, Grady and Mary Phillips, and siblings Ophelia Cook, J.G. Phillips, Mary Joyce Verzino, Edwin Phillips, Edna Banks, Bill Phillips, and Bob Phillips.

Survivors include her son, Damon Townsend (Sherri); daughter, Glenda Trimm (Jack); grandchildren, Jason Townsend, Kevin Trimm (Chrissy), Kristy Trimm, and Jonathan Townsend (Jenn); eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Holcombe, June Rice, and Pauline Kuykendall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
