

Sadie Thompson, age 93, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on March 17, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama. A native of Echola, Alabama, she lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and community. She was a devoted member of Five Points Baptist Church for 66 years, where her faithful service and quiet spirit were a blessing to many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Olen Thompson; parents Victor and Helen Reece; three sisters; and her great-granddaughter, Sara Lauren Ramage.
She is survived by her children, Kenny (Janet) Thompson and Connie (Mack) Hitt. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley Ramage of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; Alyson (Joe) Snyder of Lexington, South Carolina; Ashley (Patrick) Krumbein of Stuttgart, Germany; Amy (Jay) Moyer of Northport, Alabama; and Michele (Mike) Hancharik of Madison, Alabama. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jacob Ramage, Parker Snyder, Liam Krumbein, and Reese and Mallie Moyer, who brought her great joy and pride.
She is also survived by her special niece, Debra Grammer, whose loving support, time, and care meant so much to Sadie.
She is also survived by her beloved cat, Tiger.
Pallbearers include Jay Moyer, Joe Snyder, Jackson Ramage, Jacob Ramage, Don Kelly, and Teral Waldrop. Honorary pallbearers are Larry and Sallie Morrison, Judy Kelly, Sharron Stone, Ray and Mary Jennings, Sara Brown, Dee Dockery, Dr. John Miller, and members of Five Points Baptist Church.
Sadie retired from First National Bank of Tuscaloosa, where she dedicated many years of faithful service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing, and found great fulfillment in caring for her home and family.
Sadie will be remembered for her devotion to family, steadfast faith, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Having faithfully walked with the Lord throughout her years, she now rests in His eternal care. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of Sadie’s caregivers—Amanda Black, Marchelle Duncan, Joyce Christian, Denise Hataway, Brenda Pickens, and Brenda Nesmith—for their compassionate care and kindness.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, Alabama 35473, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home.
