Sarah Faye Jones

Sarah F. Jones, age 77 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away September 25, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was such a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Granny was her favorite title and her smile would light up the room with just the mention of a grandchild's name. She loved her visits no matter what kind, in person, by phone or facetime. Everyone that knew Sarah knew that her door was always open to any and everyone. She will always be remembered for her huge caring heart so selflessly putting others before herself her whole life. Cooking was her passion and it brought joy to her heart when her kitchen was full of family and friends. She was known as Momma Jones and she so cherished the frequent visits she would get from her children in the Holt Community that were childhood friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., the Celebration of Life Service will be September 30th at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Paul Champion officiating. Services are being provided by Sunset Funeral Home a Dignity Memorial Provider.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jerry G. Jones Sr., Mother, Ruth Ertle, Father, Leonard Vick, Step-father Maurice Ertle and Brother Hershel Lewis.

She is survived by sisters Shelva Jean Schuburt, Shirley Smith, Sue Smith, Sadie Shults (Ralph), Teresa Hall and Cindy McCarter, Special Nephew, Reggie Cook (Nikki), Daughters, Gayla Jones, Charlotte Swartz (Daniel), sons, Jerry G Jones Jr and Terry Jones (Lori). Grandkids, Brittney Barger, Jordan Sullivan (Colby), Reid Swartz (Brooke), Matt Swartz, Shane Jones, Tiffney Smitherman (Brett) ,Dustin Jones (Brittany) Kelsea Jones, Heather St. John (Tyler), Trista Harrell. Great Grandchildren, Preston Smitherman, Bentlee and Hartleigh Jones, Hayden and Peyton Sullivan, Kenlie and Kylie Swartz, Mason, Mia, Madelyn, Miller and Matthew Jones, Aubrey and Addisyn St. John and Alice Hester.

Pallbearers will be Dale Cook, Layne Cook, Brent Cook, Austen Price, Colby Sullivan, Matt Swartz, Reid Swartz and Richard Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers are Lacey Quarles, Jeffrey Laubenthal, Wesley Spruill, Hospice of West Alabama, Steve and Evie Hutson, Opal Broughton, Tammie and Ray Porter, Alexandra Hartley, Charlie and Dinah Seaman and Paul and Vicky Champion.
