She was born on March 10, 1946, in Belvidere, IL.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Schertz; daughter, Stacey Shamburger; her two grandsons, Braden and Gabriel Shamburger; her brother, Ronald Funk (Lee), her nephew, Troy Funk (Michelle) and niece, Mindy Elliott (David).
Sharron loved the Lord with all her heart and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. Sharron and her husband went on several FBC Builders for Christ mission trips, where she helped in the kitchen crew to feed the workers. Sharron was loved by all who knew her and she never met a person she didn’t like. During her younger years, she worked in plant design and horticulture and enjoyed helping the workers learn how to take care of “sick” plants at home. Sharron loved her Sunday School class, and it sadden her when she could no longer attend due to her illness. She will be truly missed by her family and her friends!
Visitation for Sharron will be held at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa on August 7, 2026, at 2:30 PM followed by the funeral at 3:00 PM.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
