

Shirley Haynie Hall, age 86, of Northport, Alabama passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama. She was born in Arkansas on October 4, 1938, to the late Mattie Sue Haynie.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy. Born and raised in Samantha, Alabama, Shirley was a proud graduate of Gorgas High School. Throughout her life, she was known for her fun-loving spirit and her ability to bring a smile to everyone around her. She had an infectious sense of humor and a heart full of warmth.
Shirley was passionate about making others feel welcome and loved. She found joy in cooking, often feeding family and friends with her delicious meals. One of her greatest pleasures in life was traveling, and she loved to explore new places with a suitcase that was always ready for the next adventure. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Ladew Hall; daughter, Donna Richardson; son-in-law, Mike Richardson; and sister, Billie Rowland.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Trice (Jimmy); grandsons, Hunter Richardson (Jana), Garrett Rainey (Kaylia), Chase Rainey, Rob Richardson (McCall), Tucker Trice (Savana), Nolan Trice (Taylor), and Michael Rainey; two great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; sisters, Marilyn Graham, Betty Snow, Sarah Bebout (Bob), Jackie Rice, and Cindy Nix (Robert); brother, David Haynie; and sisters-in-law, Sybil Tierce and Beth Hall and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, Alabama 35473 followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Richardson, Garrett Rainey, Chase Rainey, Jay Rice, Marc Sherrill, and Ronnie Rowland.
In honor of Shirley’s life, we remember her with gratitude, joy, and love. She was a bright light in the lives of those who had the privilege to know her.
