Tommy was born on March 6, 1944, in Holt, Alabama to Roy Everett Brinyark and Nancy Lucille Mull Brinyark. He was a man of great faith who dearly loved his family and friends and who strove to help the less fortunate whenever he could. He was preceded by his parents, his three sisters: Helen, Dyrlee, Bonnie Faye, and his brother, Mark.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children, Eddie Brinyark (Stacy), Michelle Hicks (Glenn), Michael Brinyark (Patra) and Patrick Brinyark (Sheena); grandchildren, Lindsay Hicks Jones (Jeremy), Jessica Brinyark, Caleb Brinyark, Abbey Brinyark, Elizabeth Brinyark, and Noah Brinyark; great-grandchildren, Izzie Jones and Emily Brinyark; and brother Bruce (Betty).
His fondest childhood memories include playing with cousins in various parts of Alabama and NC, playing in the woods behind the house with his siblings and friends.
Much could make him smile: family, church family, friends, Alabama winning—Roll Tide!
His pastimes and hobbies have included—hunting and camping on Balsam Mountain woodworking of all kinds; keeping the grass manicured; growing crepe myrtles, gardenias, eucalyptuses, tomatoes; enjoying tennis, softball, and football; watching (over and over) episodes of NCIS, Bones, Jeopardy, and The Andy Grifitth Show. He also dearly loved the beach and the Smoky Mountains. He was a phenomenal dog trainer as attested by his childhood pet Candy, and his poodles Morgan, and Loki (who misses him).
