Thomas Jerry Guy

Jerry Guy, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died June 23, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his brother, Raymond Guy Jr.; his nephews, Ken Guy (Cheree) of South Carolina, Scott Guy (Caroline) of Mississippi, and Glenn Guy of North Carolina; his niece, Lisa Guy Brasfield of Tuscaloosa; his great-nieces and nephews, Jennifer Maples (Skip), Crystal Emery (Corey), Amber Ballard, Andy Ballard, DJ Brasfield, Carrie Guy, Joseph Guy, and Amber Guy; and his great-great-nieces and nephews, Tori Maples, Kaylee Maples, Zoey Emery, and Zane Emery.

Jerry retired from PARA after a 37-year career. He was a lifelong member of the Tuscaloosa Jaycees. He enjoyed bowling at Bama Lanes with the Young at Heart League and playing Bingo at the McAbee Center. Jerry loved cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Crimson Tide. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Guy, Scott Guy, Glenn Guy, DJ Brasfield, Jeff Smith, and Carl Neal.

Honorary pallbearers are DCH 6 South, Dr. Sumathi Puttu, Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty, Park and Recreation Authority, Tuscaloosa Moose Lodge, Monday Morning Young at Heart Bowling League, Wright's Restaurant, McAbee Center Bingo, Forest Manor Rehab, Hicks Plumbing Co., Moses Plumbing Co. and Tim Morales & Associates.
