What if Jesus told you He was coming? What if He said He’d like to share some ice cream with you before heading out? It was late Sunday afternoon at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama when we told our mom, Virginia Ann Booth, that the only way she could hop on that train to Heaven was if our Lord and Savior had punched her ticket. Instantly, a train sounded its powerful horn as it rolled down the track behind the hospital. Sunday, January 23, 2022 will forever be Ice Cream Sunday because that’s the day our mom hopped the train to spend forever with Christ and His ever-growing cloud of witnesses. The world would say mom passed on Thursday, January 27 but the Truth will reveal to you that this was simply the day mom's tent was finally folded up for good. Mom has a new tent now and it will last forever.
Our mom is preceded in going to Heaven by her parents Andrew and Ruth Sullivan and her beloved son, Chris Booth. Mom entered this world on November 19th, 1942. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and attended Judson College. Virginia began her career in Panama City, Florida, lived for many years in Selma where she raised her children. She moved back home to Tuscaloosa in 1986.
Mom is survived by her children Jim Booth, Brian Booth, and Ginger Yellen, her grandchildren Allie, Christian, Cabot, Bailey, Cameron, Seri Claire, and Charlie and her sister, Linda Jenkins.
