My sincere sympathy to all of Billy's family. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Billy but if he is anything like his charming sister June I know I would have liked him.  June and Joe miss Billy greatly and I am very sorry for their loss.

I grew up and went to Eufaula high school with all the Barker kids...Billy was 4 years older than me, but he always had THAT IMPISH smile that made you feel good. I looked up to Billy as he was a friend and mentor. I will always remember how proud I felt when he called me by my nickname....

Billy was a little older than I but I do recall that Impish grin that could bubble over into a smile. He was a part of the Southside Gang along with many of all that group of kids on  the southside of town. Bill Culpepper

I love my AL family-I love my Uncle Billy.  I'm thankful we talked on his birthday last year.  I can't think about him without smiling.  I hear the twang in his voice, the love and laughter that flowed freely from his heart and his lips.  I will never forget his bright, warm, loving smile.

My uncle Billy taught me the meaning of family. I was staying with them once on a visit from Florida. My cousins and I were sleeping in a camper that belonged to the neighbor there. I got into trouble as a 10 year old often would. The results of which were I was sent home. I walked in the house and uncle Billy was watching a game on TV. He asked me what was wrong and I told him. He then preceded to make Gary and Mike come home also! He said, "If Dale has to come home then so do Gary and Mike!" I reckoned that was his way of letting me know how important I was to him. I never forgot it. One often never has a guy like that in their corner! I loved him dearly. See ya soon uncle Billy! Your nephew and brother, William Dale Clenney

Johnnie Faye, so sorry to hear of your loss, I did not know your husband but we were classmates and good friends at Sumter Co. High so many years ago.  My prayers are with you in the following days.

My prayers and thoughts to the family of Bill. He was well liked by so many, and I count it a blessing to be counted among them.Bill was special to a lot of people. As a co-worker at THS and CHS for many years, I enjoyed the pleasure of Bill's always cheerful spirit and uplifting sense of humor. He will be missed.

Dear Barker Family, Whenever a Child of Light goes home to be with Jesus Christ, the world becomes a darker place. The best thing that the LORD can do for us is to take us unto Himself transforming us into Holy Light in a place called Heaven.The dwelling place of God where the blessed go after passing away. It is an eternal state of happiness. Billy is happier now than he ever was on Earth, and he is even more handsome with his beautiful smile which he and his sister June always had. Billy was also blessed to be with his Mother on Mother's Day. Billy lived a full life and touched many lives that coupled with a loving family means that he was in God's favor.Every Christian will definitely see Billy again. We were very fortunate to have Coach Barker as our coach, he never accepted execuses for anything. I wish there were more coaches like him today because he taught us to be responsible.  And lastly, we knew if we got out of line we would have to pay a stiff penalty. Thanks Coach. RIP
