William “Doug” Lancaster, age 84, of Gordo, died June 25, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Flatwoods Baptist Church in Gordo. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Porter Lancaster; his parents, David Jackson and Minnie Bell Lancaster; and his brothers, D.J. “Jr.” Lancaster and Dan Lancaster.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Lancaster; son, Kerry Lancaster; sister, Ruth Junkin; sister-in-law, Mary Lancaster; grandchildren, Gary Morris Jr., Kerry Lancaster Jr., and Andy Allen; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jax and Porter Morris, Ashley and Natalie Lancaster; great-great-granddaughter, Ava Morris; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law; and cousins.
Doug was a Godly man who shared his faith in God with everyone he met.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
