

COKER William "Scotter" Junior Quimby, age 65, of Coker, died August 18, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corinth Baptist Church with Brother Ben Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bernice Quimby; grandparents, Grover and Hassie Plowman, and Annie and Bennie Quimby; and great-niece, Sara Ann Carr.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Hancock (Lee Hancock) and Ann Arnold (Jimmy Arnold).
William taught Industrial Electricity at Shelton State for 31 years retiring in 2011. He impacted many lives through teaching and through his work with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed hunting and horses.
Pallbearers will be Ed Barrett, Tony Driver, Guin Smith, Milas Arnold, Jimmy Quimby, and Leroy Robertson.
Honorary pallbearers are Shelton State faculty and employees, friends of the Holman, Elrod, and Coker communities, members of Holman Free Will Baptist Church, MICU, Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center and staff of 2 SE.
