TUSCALOOSA | Dr. Y.R. Mohan, age 81, of Tuscaloosa, passed away April 20, 2015 at Forest Manor. Service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Sunset Funeral Home with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday from 4:30 p.m.to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sunanda Mohan; sons, Sunjay and Jaideep Mohan; and grandchildren, Maya, Navya, and Arnan Mohan.
Dr. Mohan was born in Shimoya, India. He completed his doctorate of sociology at Mississippi State University in 1978. He retired from Stillman College where he was a professor of sociology since 1979. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
