

She was born Colleen Catherine Barry in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 6, 1933 to Gerald and Helen Barry. She had two older sisters, Patricia and Marjorie, all together known as the Barry Sisters. She was raised in Minneapolis where she married her life mate and husband Richard Stubblefield on September 25, 1954. Richard and Colleen were married for 59 years and 11 months. Together they had 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Colleen, Richard and their young family moved west to Southern California in 1965 and have called it home for the past 51 years.
Colleen devoted her life to family and friends. She formed lifelong friendships she still had from grade school at St. Anne’s, to high school with the DIPUTS, and her Northridge friends. Her middle years were spent raising 6 high spirited children. During the golden years she visited grandchildren, rarely missing a birthday or graduation. Throughout her life Aunt Colleen was loved and admired by her 11 nieces and nephews. Colleen loved reading a novel, telling stories, playing scrabble, crossword puzzles, gardening and everything Irish.
Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her son Barry, her grandchild Spencer, her son-in-law Richard, and her sister Marjorie. She is survived by her children Denise, Richard and his spouse Linda, Gregory and his spouse Nancy, Margaret and her spouse Karl, Maureen and her spouse Bryan, her daughter-in-law Gilda; her 13 grandchildren: Geoffrey and his spouse Julia, Gentry, Riley and her spouse Sean, Trey, Brenden, Simone, Nicole, Natalie, Lea, Raymond, Pierce, Kaven and Lauren; her 3 great grandchildren: Aiden, Kali, and Skyler; and her sister Patricia.
A Visitation will take place at Bastian and Perrott, Oswald Mortuary at 18728 Parthenia St in Northridge on Friday, August 12th from 5 to 8 pm with the Rosary commencing at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 18400 Kinzie St in Northridge at 10:00 am on Saturday August 13th with interment immediately following at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery.
