To Father Potts , I love you as if you were my true blood as a Father . It's sad to see you go please rest in peace. Thanks for helping me learn to drive a stick shift car when I first was learning to Drive a car and getting my Drivers license. Please know you are in our hearts and memories. I Thank you for welcoming  us into you life, family, and home . You were the best and only man my son knew as a grandpa and I appreciate you so dearly for it . We will miss  you so so much We love you forever more Latasha and Tristyan Jones.

To my Uncle,
Thank you for being such an amazing man and teaching me how to be one too. Without you I would’ve went years without someone being a father figure thank you for being that for me. I’m writing this with so much emotion because you really were a key figure for me❤️. I love you Unc I know everything I do in life will make you proud. I will always be Filthy Rich because of you. My Grandpa was a good man. He was funny, kind, and sweet. Every summer when I went over to my grandma's house, I would always look forward to spending time with him, watching TV with him, and him making me laugh. I loved hanging out with him; he would tell me stories. Funny stories, stories about when he was growing up. I remember all the TV shows we used to watch together. He would always invite me into his room, and we would watch whatever he wanted, and sometimes whatever I wanted to watch.  Even though he hated watching Disney Channel, he always stayed to watch it with me. Over the years, I couldn’t see him much; he lived in Fresno, and I live in Ontario, so it was really hard to see him and talk to him whenever I wanted to. Even though we would call, I would still miss him. Over time, he started going to the hospital, and every time he went, I was scared. Scared he wasn’t gonna come out, scared he wasn’t gonna get better. The first time I saw him in the hospital broke my heart. I cried a lot, and I told him, “I want you to get better so you don’t have to be in a hospital bed anymore.” He couldn’t talk, so he nodded. I wanted to do something for him, I wanted to be there more for him, but I couldn’t. Over time, we saw him in the centers and more hospitals. I remember when my family and everyone went to see him; he was so happy to see us and so sad to see us go, which broke my heart. What makes me sad is that he didn’t get to see me cross the stage at graduation, he’s not gonna tell me happy birthday on my birthday, or get to see me succeed the rest of my life. I would love to have him back. He was not only my grandpa, but my best friend. I would love to talk to him one more time, kiss him one more time, and watch TV as we used to one more time.

I am deeply overwhelmed for your loss as I sit here and think back over the years of family events, I see the smiles that he has put on everyone’s face the hugs that was embraced by him, even though he may not have not being feeling at his best he continues to keep that beautiful smile upon his face Although you’ve never been down this road before rest, assure he is still smiling and at peace.

Mr D. Potts was the nicest person I  have ever known.  What a great smile  he definitely known for.  I remember when I first meet him at 20509 in the valley.  The first thing he said which I do still remember is sure you right. I also remember when D.  and I went to eat at Dennys restaurant in Roscoe  bulivard and also we spent time one day when he was talking about the other dog champ.  That he was no joke.  I remember the all the family reunions  he was present at and men to see all the love they gave him. I remember when we all went to see his mother at-home and he was really holding her before she passed.  I remember when we started talking about the rebuilding of the 68 impala and all the work it has to be done to it. Men talking bout missing someone.  Mr D will be definitely definitely be missed by his wife, his children,  his grand children,  great grandchildren  and all the members of the Potts families that are present to all family reunions.  May his journey to heaven be a peaceful one and now he has joined his mother, sister and brother's as the lord's angels.  Rest in peace OG. D. I will definitely keep your memories alive with me until we see each other  again.  You will be missed 😢.

Dear God,

As we prepare for my uncle’s funeral on the 8th and 9th of July 2026  , the man who stepped up and helped raise all the girls in our family with love, strength, and guidance. Lord, wrap Your arms around him during this heartbreaking time. Give him peace when the days feel heavy, comfort when the tears fall, and strength to keep moving forward.

Please watch over my beautiful Aunty peaches . I want her to know that I love her with all my heart. Even though this pain is hard to carry right now, she is not alone. God, remind her that You are walking beside her every step of the way, holding her close and giving her hope.

May Your love bring healing to our family, and may we find comfort in knowing that brighter days will come. We will continue to love, support, and pray for one another through this difficult time.

Aunty peaches I love you so much. Everything will be okay. We will get through this together, one day at a time.

I remember when I asked Darylon to walk me down the aisle. In his low Darylon voice, he said, "Yeah, I guess." That was just him. I loved him for that because he wasn't just my brother-in-law—he was my big brother. I had known and loved him for so many years. He never judged me. He may have laughed at me a few times, but he never judged me. In fact, his nickname for me was "Tittle Teller," and every time he called me that, it made me smile.
There are two memories that always come to mind when I think of him.
The first was when we lost TC and Peaches. Darylon and I took a road trip to Texas. We stopped at a weigh station, and all I heard was, "Pooh, you need to wake up, and if you have something, you better figure it out." When I woke up, I asked my brother-in-law what he did with his because I knew he had some too. He just looked at me and said, "I'm good." The outcome was that I almost went down, while he somehow made it through just fine. Looking back now, it still makes me laugh.
The second memory is really more of a testimony. One day, I was trying to get away from a situation I was in. I called my sister while she was at work. She told me she would see if Darylon could come get me. Honestly, I thought I was stuck. I didn't think he would stop what he was doing and come.
About 30 minutes later, he pulled up.
That day, Darylon saved my life. If he hadn't come, there is no telling how my life would have turned out. I loved him for that. What makes the story even more special is that years later, when I told him what that day meant to me, he didn't even remember it. That's because, to him, it wasn't something extraordinary. It was simply what he was supposed to do. That was his job as my Big Bro.
That's who Darylon was. He showed up when people needed him. He loved his family, protected those he cared about, and never asked for recognition. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone, and then act like it was no big deal.

To my sister and her children,
My heart breaks for each of you as you mourn the loss of an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing someone so deeply loved, but I want you to know that you are surrounded by people who love you and are holding you close in their thoughts and prayers.
Sis, Darylon loved you with all his heart. The life you built together, the memories you shared, and the love between you can never be taken away. I know the days ahead will be difficult, but I pray that God gives you strength, comfort, and peace when you need it most.
To the kids, your dad was a man who loved his family fiercely. He was always there when someone needed him, always willing to help, and always looking out for the people he loved. The values he taught you, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave will live on through each of you. May you find comfort in knowing how proud he was of you and how much he loved being your father.
Darylon touched so many lives, including mine. He was more than my brother-in-law—he was my Big Bro. He loved, protected, encouraged, and showed up when it mattered most. I will always be grateful for the memories we shared and for the impact he had on my life.
As you grieve, remember that you do not walk this journey alone. Lean on one another, cherish the memories, tell the stories, laugh through the tears, and hold on to the love he leaves behind. That love will always remain.
