Elizabeth Ferigo, 89, of Stevenson Ranch, California, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023 from natural causes. She was born on September 11, 1934 in Hannastown, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late George and Anna Spallone.
Elizabeth often told stories of her childhood on the East coast picking berries and her love of the cold weather and snow. She described her adventure of moving to Washington D.C. with her childhood friend, MaryAnn, and working as a secretary in the Department of Defense. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed the tales of glamorous naval parties she attended. However, after she married Primo, her childhood neighbor, she moved to California and spent her life as a fulltime mom of four daughters. She was often seen at St. Euphrasia school and church volunteering. She earned her B.A. in History from CSUN and tutored many children over the years.
Elizabeth passed on her love of live performances such as dance, musicals, and plays to her family. She enjoyed her trips to Morongo playing the slot machines and eating banana splits. She loved the stock market, listening to music and reading. She enjoyed cooking and passed along many family favorite recipes. She spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren attending family gatherings and celebrations.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving family: daughters, son-in-law’s, and grandchildren: Karen and Mike Herwig, daughter Liz and her husband John; Lisa Gaston; Diane and Paul Martinsen and their children Maggie, Nick, and Chris; Renée and Jeremy Marshall and their children Zach and Lily; sister Irene Joyce; brother Charles Spallone and his wife Donna; sister-in-law Lia Dominick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Primo “Jack” Ferigo, her parents, George and Anna Spallone and siblings, Antoinette Gramlick, Louise Lane, Marie Tucciarone, Joanne Spallone, Anthony Spallone, George Spallone and Joseph Spallone and her son-in-law Basil Gaston.
Private California family services will be held on January 13, 2024. Private Pennsylvania family services will be held in March 2024.
