
John Alexander Davidson II, 63, died at his home in Encino, California, on December 30, 2010, following a brief struggle with cancer. The son of John A. and Mary Vannah Davidson, John was born in 1947 in North Carolina and raised in Springfield. Ohio. John graduated from The Harvard Business School (1977) and the United States Air Force Academy (1969) . He served several tours of duty in Southeast Asia as a Forward Air Control pilot, and his military honors include a Purple Heart, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, 14 Air Medals, and the Air Force Commendation Medal, and left the Air Force with the rank of Captain. Davidson was a member of The Ravens, a group of Forward Air Control pilots who flew covert missions in Southeast Asia requiring extreme bravery and skill.
A passionate skier, Davidson had been an active member and past president of Singles Ski Club and Century City Ski Club. Most recently, John was a Management and business Analyst at the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System of Greater Los Angeles.
John is mourned by his wife, Tricia Levine Davidson, and his brothers and sisters Robert L. Davidson, Helen (Davidson) and Stephen McCarthy, Patricia A. Davidson, Mary Beth Davidson, and Thomas A. Davidson. John is also mourned by his brothers in law Richard Levine and Charles Kapner, stepchildren Robert Bellsey and Michael and Amy (Bellsey) Botzaritch, and beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Bastian & Perrott Funeral home, 18728 Parthenia St., Northridge CA 91324 (818-886-8600)
at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 followed by burial at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth.
Those who wish to honor John are asked to make gifts to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
