Katherine Harriet Rousseau passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Katherine was born on June 30, 1931, to Searle and Julia Randall in Los Angeles, and raised in Pasadena. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 1949 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Whittier College. After graduating from college, she taught elementary school for about five years. She married the love of her life, Arthur Rousseau, in 1957. They made their home in Manhattan Beach before moving to Northridge in 1960 where they raised their five children. She dedicated most of her adult life to volunteer service. She had served on the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council Board. She had been on the Executive Board of the Don Jose de Ortega Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an active member and volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Church for many years. She had also been a member the Cahuenga Chapter, National Society of American Colonists; and had been a member of the Mayflower Society. Katherine loved animals and donated to many peace, environmental, and animal welfare causes. She enjoyed genealogy, history, antiques, folk music, playing cards, and the study of world religions.
Katherine was preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur in 2016. Katherine is survived by her children Mary (husband Clay) Rowell, Ann (husband Calvin) Smith, Cynthia (husband Aaron) Malchose, Paul (wife Jerrianne) Rousseau, and Julia (husband Paul) Brumana; and six grandchildren Richard, Lynne, and William Rowell, Katherine Smith, and Jessica and Paul Brumana.
