

Madison Jae Hastings-Saxelby died unexpectedly on February 11, 2018 at the age of 9, when
her grandfather’s Cirrus VK-30 went down in the hills near Santa Clarita, California, along with
her mother Amber Hill, her step-father Jacob Hill, and her grandfather Thomas Hastings.
Madison is survived by her father Jason R. Saxelby, grandmother Stephanie Sims, grandfather
Jason M. Saxelby, aunt Elizabeth Saxelby, aunt Shurie Saxelby, grandmother Joyce Hastings,
and uncle Jake Hastings.
Madison was born September 27th, 2008 in West Hills, California. She attended preschool and
kindergarten at Kidsville USA in Northridge, California. She attended grades 1-4 at Katherine
Elementary School in Simi Valley, California.
Madison loved gymnastics, was very creative, enjoyed making rainbow loom jewelry with her
friends to share with all those around her. She was known to her classmates as the mad
scientist because she loved exploring slime recipes and even created her own edible slime.
Madison had many neighborhood and school friends, but her best and closest friend was her
mom, Amber.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St.Joseph the
Worker Catholic Church, 19851 Sherman Way, Winnetka, CA 91306 (Facing Sherman Way
between Winnetka Ave. and Corbin Ave). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Madison’s
life.
Reception following the ceremony, location to be announced at the service.
