A rainy cloudy day was the backdrop for mom's funeral mass. It seemed appropriate that it was raining as I recalled how my mom told me about her own mother's funeral....icy, cold and etched in her mind. You see she was just a teenager when her mother passed....and my mom marveled at living almost twice as long.
The day was filled with wonderful condolences and stories from her many friends at Our Lady of Lourdes and her home at The Village at NorthRidge. The flowers, cards, and support were so uplifting - I know she was smiling. As I drove home just two days later with a car packed full of memories it was still raining...but just over half way thru the 5 hour trip this appeared and I thought to myself..."thanks, mom for keeping the drive beautiful - I Love You."

I have known Mary for more than 15 years. To me she was the perfect lady. She loved to look at beautiful things around her. She strived for perfection: we changed her patio garden three times! Before finally settling for a beautiful succulent garden, she had a rose garden with a flowering vine. She scoured nurseries to find the perfect plants and pots. She moved plants around to find the perfect spot in the patio so she could enjoy them even when she was sitting in her living room.
I enjoyed being with her, our visits to nurseries, our conversations. I am already missing her and her ready smiles. I have been blessed and forever grateful to have her as a friend. Goodbye, Mary, thank you for the beautiful memories. Love you, Lina
