Born on May 3, 1956, in Lagos, Nigeria, to the late Gabriel Iwuchukwu and the late Mabel Nwanagu, Miriam was shaped by the beauty and discipline of her roots. Her Christian faith was not a background detail. It was a foundation she carried through every chapter of her life.
Architecture was her first love. The kind that demands your whole mind, your patience, and a standard that never bends. She answered that calling fully, building a career in design before turning her gifts toward something equally enduring: the minds of young people. For the last decade of her professional life, she poured herself into educating the next generation with the same precision and devotion she brought to everything she touched.
She was the devoted wife of the late Henry Adebayo Tasker, with whom she shared 29 years of life and love.
Miriam is survived by her daughter, Onome Tasker; son, Tome Tasker; sisters, Stella Ekwunife, Jane Agwuh, and Anne Murray-Bruce; brother, Michael Iwuchukwu; and the wide, warm circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family whose lives she shaped simply by being in them.
