

On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, Nick Carl Marco, loving husband and father, passed away at home at the age of 89.
Nick was born on March 2, 1930 in Gary, Indiana to Philip and Grace (Marino) Marco. After serving his country in the Korean War, he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He moved to California with his brother Alex in the late 1950’s to pursue a career in the aerospace industry. He married Catherine MacNeil in 1961, the mother of his children, Linda, Phillip, and Karen. In 1983, he married Marlene Cohen residing in North Hills, California.
Nick was a loving father who provided endless guidance to his children and grandchildren and was a strong supporter of using higher education in the pursuit of success. He was a track athlete in college, but also a passionate fan of nearly every sport. He loved playing bridge, traveling, and square dancing. He will be remembered for his quick wit, easy laugh, love of his family, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him.
Nick was preceded in death by his father Philip, his mother, Grace, and his brother, Alex. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marlene, his three children Linda Fenton (Paul), Phillip Marco (Renu), Karen Hemstreet (Kevin), three stepchildren Sharon Cohen, Victoria Barrie (Osman), Sheldon Cohen (Susan), and ten grandchildren, Cameron, Nicholas, Nisha, Rachel, Justin, Andrew, Darian, Alexandra, Noah, Tejan.
A private military funeral service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in August 2019. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Braille Institute of America.
