Norman was born on July 16, 1959, in Encino, California, to Marvin and Janet Taylor. He grew up in Southern California and graduated from Chatsworth High School on June 17, 1977.
A talented athlete, Norman loved sports and earned a football scholarship to Brigham Young University. Shortly after beginning his studies at BYU, he answered a call to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Quito, Ecuador. For two years he dedicated his time to teaching the gospel and serving the people there.
After returning from his mission, Norman resumed his studies at BYU, where he met the love of his life, Connie Gray. The two were married in 1984 in Tooele, Utah, and were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, beginning a lifelong partnership centered on faith, family, and love.
Norman and Connie later moved to California, where he worked alongside his parents in the family business, Balboa Brick and Supply Corporation. He remained devoted to the business and to the values of hard work and dedication throughout his career.
Above all, Norman cherished his family. He loved spending time with them and took great joy in being a husband, father, and grandfather. His kindness, patience, and ability to see the best in everyone made him deeply loved by those who knew him.
Norman faithfully served in many callings within his church and found great fulfillment in helping and serving others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Taylor; his children, Michael Taylor, Rachel Taylor, and Justin Taylor; and his cherished grandchildren, Evelyn Taylor, Olivia Taylor, and Gabriel Razo. He is also survived by his siblings, Gary Taylor (Kristy) and Sandy Avina (Carlos).
Norman was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Taylor; his mother, Janet Taylor; and his brother, Brent Taylor.
Norman will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. His kindness, faith, and positive spirit touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
