Bob was one of a kind soul. When I first met him  he helped me so much despite barely knowing me. He was a master of his craft  Over the years despite only talking to him every once in a while, he would remember things as if we talked every day. He talked about his family, ,work and everything in between  I will always be grateful

I had the pleasure of working with Bob numerous times over the past 17 years in the printing industry. He was a larger than life figure to me…so kind, so knowledgeable, I always  looked forward to when Bob would swing by my shop to help me with a broken press. Bob always went out of his way to help me, teach me, and always share a good story (or five) . We would always meet before the sun came up, I’d have donuts and coffee, and he’d have the tools…lots of tools (and expertise). In the few hours I would spend with Bob (a couple times a year, for the last 17), I would learn so much, so much about my printing presses, the history of printing, the mechanics, as well as about Bob himself. He was very open and willing to share and to listen. We connected not only as colleagues but as fiends, every time he visited. And every time he left (usually covered in grease), we said farewell, knowing all too well that something would break, and I would see him again…most likely soon. I asked a lot of Bob, a lot of favors and just ALOT of questions, and he was ALWAYS willing to help. It is very sad to lose Bob, but the inspiring thing I take away is, that although he won’t be making any trips back to the shop,  Bob really does live on. I have shared so many stories about Bob, and how he “miraculously fixed a doomed press”, or “called me out of the blue to tell me he found a press I would like”,  or shared a story with me that had me rolling on the ground in laughter. My colleagues, my friends, my family, they have all heard about Bob, and they were all very sad to hear of his passing. We all are.  But Bob lives on in our memory and in our hearts, and will always be there…all we gotta do is call.

The best father a girl could ever ask for.  He shaped me into the selfless, innovation, and creative that I am. My hunger to do and try has always been fueled by his genius abilities in literally everything. Without him my natural navigation in the kitchen and curiosity to try new things would never be a thing. 

He allowed me the chance of free thinking, making decisions even at the risk of consequences so that I learn first hand. With his  guidance and support along the way. He protected me from mean people and always reminded me to stand up for myself. I’ll never forget how he held my hand as I walked down steps in my wedding dress. And the laughs to calm my nerves, a gentleman. Who knew! 

I’m forever grateful to have had him as my Daddyo, I will miss our ridiculous banter of awful jokes and weird moments of silence cuz we ran out of things to talk about but didn’t wanna get off the phone.  It already feels like forever but I’ll miss you horribly forever.
