Sia Mormanis, age 95, of Granada Hills, California passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. She was born May 1927 in Tripolis, Greece. Sia came to Wheeling, WVA as a “War Bride” where she married Tony Mormanis. They had two children, Perry and Alexis, before moving to the San Fernando Valley in 1958. A few years later they welcomed another loving daughter, Paulette.
They began attending St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Sia was a spiritual woman all her life and had immeasurable love for her church. She enjoyed practicing her faith, attending bible study, and made many lifelong friends there.
Sia worked at May Company in North Hollywood, California and retired after a 33 year career.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, had a passion for discussing politics, bowling on the church league, and playing cards with her friends and family. Her favorite card game was Beriba which she took pride in teaching all her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to play.
Sia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alexis and Steve Markis, her daughter and son-in law, Paulette and Themi Gallanis, her daughter-in-law, Cleo Mormanis, her cherished grandchildren, Anthony (Christine), Sophia (George), Jimmy (Donna), Matthew (Lisa), Andrew (Dianne), Greg (Amber), Tony (Maria), and Alex, and her precious great grand children Toula, Leo, Olivia, and Abby.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony, and her loving son, Perry.
She will be missed for her sharp wit, energetic personality, as well as her homemade apple pies and spanakopitas.

A Trisagion for Sia will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Bastian and Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, 18728 Parthenia Street, Northridge, California. The funeral service will be on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 9501 Balboa Boulevard, Northridge, California. Burial will be on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen Street, Chatsworth, California.
