So sorry to learn of Steve's passing We were friends in high school and college and lost touch when he entered the military.

Steve was kind, sensitive and had a wonderful sense of humor. Our world has suffered the loss of one of the "good ones" and his warmth and goodness will be missed.

Like all of us, this comes as shocking news....and to learn of his passing on FB was crazy!  Steven and I worked together many years ago waiting tables at Mountain Jacks Restaurant in Lafayette (northern CA).  Those were some of the best times.  We kept in touch throughout the years, sometimes 5 years would pass, but somehow we would find each other and catch up.  He was such a great, funny, passionate, creative and just downright awesome person and friend.  He will be truly missed.

Steven had been on my mind for a few days, which was a bit odd, because I only knew him through Facebook (although I have two friends that knew him well)... I went to his page yesterday thinking I would see something to suggest that he had been very busy with his work, etc, and was stunned to see the news of his passing... I always enjoyed his thoughtful posts and appreciated his writing talents... He will be greatly missed and I am so very sorry to his family for their loss... So sorry to hear this.  We just facebook chatted about his Chile Verde burritos.  He was going down to see his mother.  So very sorry to hear!

I was shocked to learn of Steve's passing. I will miss his cleaver humor on Facebook and was glad that I was able to connect with Steve on Facebook. My thoughts are with all who were part of his life.

This was such sad and shocking news for us.  We loved Steve, his wonderful sense of humor, his writings, his care of people.  This is just so incredibly hard for us to believe.  Our heartfelt wishes go to Steve's family.  He will be greatly missed!

It is hard to find the right words. I,like others, am shocked by the news of Steve's passing. My thoughts and prayers are definately with his family. This is a difficult time for them and we would pray for strength and peace. But, I sure will miss his humor, his food and most of all--Steve. RIP my friend

I too am going to miss all of Steve's humor on Facebook.  Learning of his death was a sad shock.  Prayers go out to his family.

I always enjoyed Steve's sense of humor when we were classmates.  I relished opening facebook to read the descriptions of the incredible meals he would prepare.  I am going to miss my friend.

I am so completely caught off-guard with this that words are difficult to find. My sincere condolences to Steve's family and friends. I'm certainly going to miss Steve's insights, wit and sense of humor.
