

He was born on June 29, 1918 to the late Alexander and Maryanna (Topar) Chojnicki in Hopkinton, RI. He joined the Merchant Marines serving during WWII as a Fireman-Oiler. After his Honorable Discharge, he worked his entire life as a Box Maker at Robertson Paperbox until his retirement.
On Oct. 16, 1944 he married the former Mildred DeRusha at the Cathedral of St. Patrick. She predeceased him on May 18, 2011. Together that have one son, Peter J. Chojnicki who survives them.
Al was a member of the American Legion and Merchant Marine Veterans of America. He was a devoted husband, father and consummate provider for his family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, at 10:30am at St. Joseph Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT.
