He was born in Norwich to Jeanette F. (Socha) Jowdy of Bozrah and the late Albert P. Jowdy Sr. Albert grew up in Bozrah and was a graduate of Norwich Regional Technical School. In his early years, he worked as a lineman for the former SNET Sc. Eventually, Albert moved to Stamford, CT and then on to New York City and Bayonne, NJ.
IN NYC he was a driver for Yellow Cab taxi service and truly enjoyed the many people he would meet. We all enjoyed listening to him tell us about his interesting adventures. Al also welcomed anyone who wanted a walking tour of the city, since he loved and knew the city so well. He liked to write and self published a book he wrote.
Motorcycle riding, which included motor cross and stunt performances at the racetrack, were favorite past times of Al's during his youth. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be missed.
