Ali Riahi

Ali Riahi of Gales Ferry passed away in his sleep on February 24th at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Susanna (Roth) Riahi, their son Douglas, his wife Daphne, and granddaughter Corin.

Ali was born in Tehran, Iran in 1933. As a young man, he traveled to Europe and onwards to the U.S. where he became a U.S. citizen. Married in 1965, he graduated from the University of Bridgeport, and pursued a successful career as a financial executive with Chessco Industries, Gould Inc., and Lockheed Martin. He later joined Cramer and Lindell Engineers of Niantic, from which he retired.

Ali is remembered as a generous person to friends and family alike, always willing to lend a hand, and offer advice. He traveled the world for work and visiting with relatives in Iran and Switzerland.

Ali is predeceased by his son Amir, and survived by his wife, son, granddaughter and sisters Frough, Farah and Soraya of Tehran.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27 from 5 to 8 p.m at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich,CT. Burial will take place on Monday at Avery Stoddard Cemetery in Gales Ferry, CT.
